【KKBOX Windows 6.X】What to do when a [Authorization failed. Please quit KKBOX and check your KKBOX folder authorization] or [Database update error] message appears?


If your operating system is Windows 7 or above, we recommend updating KKBOX Windows to the latest versions 7.X.
Simply go to KKBOX, click on [Download KKBOX], click on KKBOX Windows 7.X to initiate download.
 ※ KKBOX Windows 7.X can only be installed on operating systems Windows 7 and above.

If your using Windows versions below Windows 7, or if you prefer to keep using the current version, refer to the steps below:

【1】Log in to Windows as the Administrator.

【2】Check your Files and Folders settings.

■ On Windows XP
 - Click [Start] → [My Computer] → [Tools] → [Folder Options] → the [View] tab
 - Check the [Use simple file sharing (Recommended)] box
 - Click [Start] → [My document] → [My music] → [KKBOX] 
 - Select all files/folders and right-click on the folders → choose [Properties] → UNCHECK both [Read-only] and [Hidden]

■ On Windows Vista and Windows 7
 - Click [Start] → [My document] → [My Music]
 - Right-click on the [KKBOX] folder and choose [Properties] → [Security]
 - Under [Group or user names] select the account you log into Windows
 - Change the [Full control] setting to [Allow] and click [OK]
 - Choose [Properties] → UNCHECK both [Read-only] and [Hidden]

■ Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10
 - Click [File Manager] and choose [Music] under [This PC]
 - Right-click on the [KKBOX] folder and choose [Properties] → [Security]
 - Under [Group or user names] select the account you log into Windows
 - Change the [Full control] setting to [Allow] and click [OK]
 - Right-click on [KKBOX] folder → choose [Properties] → UNCHECK both [Read-only] and [Hidden]

Log out and log back in your account to see if the problem is solved.
